Spain: Farmers to hold tractor demonstration in Valencia April 27

Farmers to hold tractor protest from Paseo de la Alameda to Assut de l'Or Bridge in Valencia, Spain, from 10:00 April 27.

Warning

Farmers plan to conduct a tractor procession protest in central Valencia on April 27. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce EU-level agricultural policies. An unspecified number of demonstrators with at least 800 tractors will gather on Passeig de l'Albereda (Paseo de la Alameda) at 10:00 before departing for the Assut de l'Or bridge. Organizers did not specify where on Passeig de l'Albereda the protest would start or what route they would take.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near and between Passeig de l'Albereda and the Assut de l'Or bridge from morning through early evening. Transport disruptions are likely on major roadways in and around Valencia in the early morning and late evening hours on April 27 as participants drive tractors into the city. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, potentially escalating to clashes, cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the march route as a standard precaution. Allow additional time for travel in central Valencia during the day and for travel on major roads around Valencia in the early morning and late evening on April 27. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
