Alexander Johnson

Alex has almost 25 years of global experience in security, resilience and crisis leadership across the government, private sector and international development sectors. His early career included 10 years in the British Government, where he worked across the Middle East, Africa and Latin America on national security issues, including counter-terrorism, serious organised crime, and counter-intelligence.

At Crisis24, Alex leads on Insider Threat Risk Management, helping clients identify, assess and manage the risks posed by trusted insiders. Alongside this, his security risk and crisis management consulting experience spans diverse sectors and geographies, supporting companies facing complex operational disruption linked to terrorism and geopolitical instability, biohazards and pandemics, kidnap for ransom and extortion, arbitrary detention, corruption, cyberattacks, sabotage and product contamination, and disinformation.

Born and raised in the Middle East, Alex speaks fluent Arabic, French and Spanish, and has studied at academic institutions in the UK, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria. He is a Member of the Security Institute and ASIS International, and sits on several international expert rosters supporting counter-terrorism, stabilization, mediation, and security sector governance initiatives.
