Crisis24 Delivers Agile Journey Management For Executives Traveling In Ukraine
10 Jun 2025

After suspending operations in Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict with Russia, a large global company wanted to rebuild essential relationships with local partners to reenter the market. As part of this initiative, senior executives were planning a trip to Lviv and Kyiv to attend an international conference and meet with Ukrainian businesses and government officials.
Situational Analysis
Ukraine’s risk landscape remains fluid with ongoing threats, making comprehensive travel risk management a must. End-to-end journey management, executive protection, secure ground transportation, and travel tracking and monitoring are necessary to ensure the safety of executives traveling to this high-conflict region.
Travel to Ukraine presents unique complications beyond those of typical high-risk destinations with the absence of commercial flights and hybrid warfare tactics that include high levels of technical surveillance. Because of this, many organizations turn to an experienced provider to help with travel security.
Crisis24 In Action
Crisis24 assisted the global company in planning the trip in detail, facilitating and enabling all aspects of the journey from Poland to Ukraine and the return. Crisis24’s Crisis & Security Consulting team has deep expertise in the region, having helped clients navigate travel security challenges in Ukraine and surrounding region since before the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022.
The Ability to Adapt on Short Notice
During the visit, additional meeting opportunities were offered at sites around Kyiv, which were outside of the agreed schedule. Crisis24 was able to work behind the scenes with Ukrainian counterparts to assess the risks, plan, and offer up options to the company’s risk management team to enable the executives to accept invitations while also keeping client decision makers informed and supported.
An opportunity to visit Chernihiv, 3 hours northwest of Kyiv and 50km from the Belorussian border, was proposed. The Crisis24 team worked quickly to harness threat reporting, information from their local network, and open-source information to assess recent incidents and map risks and hazards. An embedded Crisis24 senior consultant traveled to Chernihiv with a local driver and protection officer, checking the route and key locations to confirm plans and brief the client on options. This short notice assessment by Crisis24 enabled the visit to proceed.
Results
With the help of Crisis24’s assessment supported by embedded and on the ground knowledge, the organization’s global security department was able to sign off on the plan to allow the executive team to attend the additional meetings, maximizing the value of the trip to Ukraine and deepening their relationship with local businesses. Crisis24’s rapid and adaptable team in Ukraine allowed client security managers to make risk-based decisions quickly.
In high-risk environments like Ukraine, the ability to respond on short notice is crucial. Access to Crisis24’s experienced consultants in the region, who work with local professionals and are supported by analysts around the world, enabled a safe, smooth, and productive trip for the global company’s executives.
