Crisis24 Acts Quickly To Support Business Continuity After Missile Attack In Ukraine
22 May 2025

On the morning of March 25, 2024, a Russian missile attack targeted cities across Ukraine, with two loud explosions heard in central Kyiv. The air raid alarm sounded just before the explosions which was unusual and left little time for warning.
Taking Action Within Minutes
Crisis24 has been helping organizations navigate the complex threat environment in Ukraine since before the large-scale Russian invasion in 2022. It’s been critical to establish the right processes to quickly and automatically respond effectively to potential threats to people and operations. With many clients in Kyiv, Crisis24 consultants on the ground reacted immediately to confirm what had happened within minutes of the incident.
Public information during such attacks is often limited, but in conjunction with Crisis24 analysts in London, it was confirmed that a missile had been successfully shot down, and debris had landed in part of the city. Using open-source information as well as working with Crisis24’s local network, the location of the impact was confirmed to be in a critical part of the city.
A Crisis24 consultant traveled to the client site to conduct an assessment, arriving just 45 minutes after the incident. The consultant was able to confirm there was no direct damage to the client's property. In the immediate term after the attack, Crisis24 worked to ensure any impact to the business was reduced and normal operating conditions for people and processes were re-established.
Having such fast access to reliable information from the Crisis24 consultant on the ground allowed the client to make informed decisions, such as giving staff the option to work from home for a short period after the attack. The organization also upgraded communications equipment to include satellite comms and enhanced network-failure procedures to strengthen resilience.
